在《Michael Jackson祭日二週年》一文，我從較負面的角度，評論有關Michael Jackson的一生給予我們世界一種警惕性寓言。而我也認為我忽略了Michael Jackson在其一生中，尤其在他事業的高峰期所做的正面性貢獻和影響，這是不容置疑的。
在當時以流行為主流市場的音樂趨勢，Michael Jackson並沒有一味地朝向當時的主流性，反而也透過其廣泛的知名度和音樂的影響力，在當時的世界和社會中帶出批判的聲音，以及博愛的信息。在他的音樂創作中，我們不難發現許多帶有對這個世界和社會種種事件和現象的“先知性”批判性信息：戰爭的暴力和殘酷、地球正嚴重面臨的污染和破壞、貧窮社會所面對的嚴重飢荒和疾病、社會邊沿群體所遭受的排擠等等不公義現象。在批判這些不公義的現實當中，其歌詞裡最終要帶出關於“愛”的信息：只有愛才可能轉化我們這生病了的世界。從這方面來看，
在這裡為大家推薦Michael Jackson其中一首歌曲《They Don't Care About Us》，而我認為Michael Jackson在這歌裡所填寫的歌詞表達得是那麼一針見血和赤裸裸的。Michael Jackson也在他的音樂錄影MV中特別的用心製作，為觀眾產生一種震撼性的意識醒覺。我認為Michael Jackson在這方面是做得非常好的（當今的流行歌手應該去留意這點）！
我特別喜歡這個MV，尤其是這個“監獄版本”（prison version）。普遍上沒有多少歌手把其歌曲和音樂聯想到囚犯：這些群體是與社會隔絕、被社會遺忘、被社會排斥、被社會咒詛、被社會視為無關要緊的。是的，就如有些人認為一樣，這些社會敗類是應該為他們的行為負責任，這是他們應得的，也是活該的，不值得同情的。在馬來西亞，這幾年來發生了許多在扣留所死亡的事件，當中被揭發了警方濫用過分的暴力來“招待”這些社會敗類，而最終這些扣留者的命案也不了了之，沒有任何人負責或被對付。最近我國的其中一個監獄哥打巴鲁的彭加兰芝柏监狱被揭發了當中存在可怕的對囚犯的非人道的行為和對待，讓人搞到憤怒和心疼萬分。當某些人已經不被視為“有尊嚴和有人性”的主體性的時候，暴力事件將會可能發生，這也是施暴者如何合理化其暴力行為。
在這首MV中，我看到一種為這些囚犯的基本人權的訴求，並且在他們中間為他們申冤。我相信，Michael Jackson作為一名世界級的超級天王巨星，而當囚犯們知道有這麼一位天王巨星正在為他們的生存而訴求公義的時候，他們肯定是非常感動和感到安慰，因為他們根本不配有這位天王巨星的看重和關注。其實，當耶穌也曾經說過：“（王要回答說：）『我實在告訴你們，這些事你們既做在我這弟兄中一個最小的身上，就是做在我身上了。』（馬太福音25：40）。別忘記，我們的主耶穌也是一名死囚，並且與其他死囚一起被判死刑。耶穌與死囚在一起，面對這世界所給予的羞辱。對一個遭遇困苦和被邊沿的人來說，當基督這位尊貴的君王視他們這些被社會認為不配存在的人為基督自己本身的時候，他們將會在當下的羞辱和卑賤中找到其生命中活下去的安慰和力量，並且也看到他們人性尊嚴中的光芒，是基督的福音所要帶來的好消息。今天，我們是否在這些邊沿人的臉孔，留意到基督的面容，以及基督的身影？
